Aquilone, Summer Camp in Italy
A Typical Day at the camp
Outdoor sports or activities requiring movement usually take place in the morning. The afternoon begins with a quiet time dedicated to activities inside the villa. Right after this break, there are a number of activities organized: games or group work; skits are prepared; pottery work; painting; or excursions. The evening is dedicated to theatrical representations, story telling and the “goodnight” sing-a-long. A trip is organized one day during the week for those who request it. The main characteristic of “L’Aquilone” is the pleasant, familiar atmosphere that surrounds it. New and old friends work and play together in this new and enthusiastic experience.
A Typical Weekly Programme
The week begins with sports and games organized according to the various age groups in order to facilitate the acquaintance among the new arrivals. Each week a different theme is chosen and it becomes the basis for all four groups of activities (sports, creative and expressive activities, fantasy and adventure, nature).
Four nutritious and abundant meals are accurately prepared daily for the children making sure that the different tastes of our guests are respected. If a child must follow a particular diet it will be rigorously observed. Particular care is taken in the choice of the food products used, and whenever possible local products are preferred.
It is possible to call your child in the morning from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and in the afternoon from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. During these time periods the children are inside the villa. The children can also use the telephone at this time, and they all take turns acting as phone operators.
We take great care in choosing our counselors, and many of them have been with us for a number of years. Preference is given to experienced and competent persons.
Check-in and Check-out
Check-in at the Summer Camp take place on Sunday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., or in the afternoon after 2:30 p.m, and check-out on Sunday morning. If necessary, it is possible to choose another day for either the check-in or check-out.
Simple, comfortable, and practical clothing are recommended. Once a child is registered at the Summer Camp, a complete list of the clothing to bring will be sent out. If the child’s stay is longer than one week, free laundry services will be provided.
